What is pilling?
“Pilling” refers to the small bumps or balls of fibers on the surface of clothing. This can occur in particular in items of clothing made from natural fibers that rub when used or washed and have not been treated with chemicals. It is therefore not always possible to avoid pilling on mountain sports apparel.
How can I avoid pilling?
There are, however, ways to avoid pilling by gently and correctly caring for the item. We recommend that you always wash the textiles at a low temperature, without fabric softener and in a separate wash bag, away from any hook and loop fasteners or zippers.
How can I remove pilling?
You can also carefully remove loose fibers from time to time using a lint roller. Little pill balls can also be removed using scissors or a special fabric shaver. However, we recommend that you do not pluck them by hand because this can often exacerbate the problem.
Alternatively, you can also have us remove the pilling professionally. Simply send us a request using the contact form with the subject “Repair” and we’ll be in touch with an estimation of the costs and more information about the process.
